The Super Scooter Aprilia SRV 850

what if the Aprilia RSV4 be modified to be a scooter?
No, Just kiding. But, Aprilia has just released Super Scooter. Is Aprilia SRV 850, The Super Scooter Aprilia made. You can see the grand design, which is derived from the Aprilia RSV4, Aprilia Superbike 1000 cc.

what about the horse power?
The Aprilia SRV 850 engine is the first and only 90° V two cylinder scooter engine and it makes this bike fastest and most powerful scooter ever manufactured anywhere in the world.
Liquid cooled, equipped with electronic injection, with distribution of 4 valves per cylinder and twin-spark ignition, the engine has a displacement of 839.3 cc. Thanks to a new optimisation of the engine control system, it now reaches a maximum power of 55.9 kW (76.0 HP) at 7,750 rpm and a maximum torque of 76.4 Nm (7.8 kgm) at 6,000 rpm, specs which place the new SRV 850 at the top of its category. Two new oxygen probes (lambda) allow the engine control unit to optimise management of the fuel-oil mixture for the two cylinders, all to the advantage of combustion, obtaining a regularity of operation at idle speed and a progressiveness and torque flexibility at medium rpms which are a reference point for this type of engine architecture.

Aprilia SportCity Cube 300

The new Sportcity 300 is a hub for a couple of updates compared to previous models, although the basic principles remain valid. Large 15-inch wheels, a flat bottom, short strong chassis and in this case, capping a bicycle, then add all the best parts. In fact, get on the Sportcity 300 is very similar to back home with an old friend. The seat is comfortable bar is a short-range and physical size means that the scooter easier, especially for management. A scooter good for all shapes and sizes, enough space for the height and still manageable for short. This scooter only seems right place. Plenty of room for passengers, and a footrest flip pleasant, and operates a large plant to make.

Aprilia SportCity Cube 300

Storage is complemented by a good amount of storage area under the seat. In view of the wheel will not fit a whole person, but that fits the middle and little else. Add a little of the glove box 12 volt charger, but best of all it has a large flat floor and bag hook, ready to carry out a good amount of food. The rear frame is ready to take the Aprilia receiver without the need for all forms of installation kit is a nice feature.

In Sportcity Cube 300 is what concerns the scooter run, so all the good parts apply here. The brakes are impressive to feel and use two 260 mm discs and move two hundred and twenty mm rear discs. Dual rear shocks with many corrections. A multifunction digital trip meter dash, battery voltage and clock. Analog Speed, Temp and fuel are front and center. All cells are nice and easy to use and the quality and functionality are all the money. The mirrors are wide and big, maybe a little too big.

Aprilia Shiver 750 ABS 2010 Review

The Aprilia Shiver received a host of changes for 2010 and our Euro correspondent got to take it for a spin at the bikes launch in France. Heres his take on the new and improved Shiver.

While Ducati is pushing Monsters like hot cakes, Aprilia hasn’t had the same success with its Shiver model since its 2007 launch. Importers I’ve spoken to put it down to a lack of flair and while BMW and Honda are getting away with murder in the shape of the silver grey paint bucket, Aprilia hasn’t. I must admit that I’ve agreed with the importers and what a change in that respect the 2010 Shiver is. Italian racing red tubular frame and more thought into an eye-catching set of decals has sort of already done it for me.

But that’s not all; Aprilia has made changes to the Shiver ergonomics, too, with a narrower and more comfortable seat and re-positioned footpegs. The handlebar position has been altered as well. As I discovered on a beautiful stretch of road in the south of France, comfort is impressive. I spent half the day on the Shiver and the rest on the Dorsoduro Factory and there’s a major difference in comfort to the Shiver’s benefit. In addition to improved comfort, the Shiver is also now more sports orientated as the pegs and handlebar have been adjusted to give the bike more front-end feel with more weight over that front.
Thanks to its quality chassis, the Shiver loves the corners. Thanks to its quality chassis, the Shiver loves the corners.
The Shivers new seat is narrower and more comfortable. The Shivers new seat is narrower and more comfortable.

The mixed steel trellis and aluminium plate frame is the most desirable feature on the Shiver. That’s what gives the Shiver a sporty feel over all other features. The Shiver rides great through the corners and despite having, for Aprilia, basic suspension the feel is great. The Shiver is a bike that loves corners due to that quality chassis from Noale. Despite being heavier than the top competitors, the Shiver feels solid and easy to throw through the corner combinations. The brakes have been upgraded with wavy discs for the 2010 model and the ABS system works well.
The Shiver features the most powerful version of the 750cc V-Twin engine and it produces a claimed 95 hp at 9,000 RPM. I still have to use the six-speed gearbox like a laboring ant, but on these southern French roads its only fun. The Shiver has more emphasis on the top-end power than the Dorsoduro so at the top-end revs things happen quickly and I found myself wanting more over-rev capacity for the fastest corners.
In Sport mode the throttle is aggressive and not the smoothest throttle in the world. In Touring mode, however, there’s not a hiccup reaching the top-end through a much smoother midrange. I didn’t try Rain mode as it’s only for, yes you guessed it, a rainy day. It’s easy to select modes, but as you use the starter button the engine must be running for you to change them. While riding you can change the riding mode, but only with a closed throttle which is unnecessary as there are no massive changes.
A new small fairing offers a little more wind protection.A new small fairing offers a little more wind protection.

A small fly fairing is now standard equipment on the Shiver 750, which deflects a little more wind than before. As the 750cc V-Twin is friendly enough with a decent midrange I’d have no problems recommending it to new riders. Benefits for a new rider include a comfortable seat, big engine sound and ABS. For more experienced riders it’s difficult to see how you’d keep yourself excited for much more than a year, but it’s a great intro into Italian bikes and V-Twins.
Conclusion
The 2010 Shiver is now a lot more “Italian” and doesn’t share the same dull silver grey paintjob from Piaggio’s scooter range. The ergonomics are better on both the comfort and the sport side. The 750cc V-Twin does its job, but I’d personally soon want to see that 1200cc engine for more oomph in higher gears on low revs because that’s not a strong side.
If nothing else, the new Shiver is much better looking. If nothing else, the new Shiver is much better looking.

Midrange is decent enough but fairly high in the revs for a V-Twin. The brakes are great even with ABS and the Shiver handles better than the engine can do. All in all a great beginner’s bike, but still not enough for somebody looking to move up in the world.
Highs:   Lows:
  • Chassis and brakes
  • More eye-catching design than before
  • Better ergonomics
  • Chassis can handle more horsepower and torque and it’s evident
  • Carries more bulk than the competition

Aprilia RS 125 Poggiali

The Aprilia RS125 b da mutts. Sharpest, best handling bike of any type. Shit loads of power to weight ratio, fantastic brakes. Some of the most worn out knee sliders we see here are from guys who know how to ride their RS125 properly. Aggressive, decisive, and with plenty of character to express its dynamic, lightweight nature in a personal, unique style that typifies Italian passion for motorbike racing.

Aprilia 125 Tuono

Aprilia RS125 Pista track-only bike

In full power trim, avoid straight roads and nobody will get near you. The Aprilia RS125 is truely great fun; theres hardly any need to brake in the twisties. But 115mph and only 125cc, means were not talking about the longest lived engines in the world. The rs125 does go bang if youre silly enough to hold the throttle open for long enough.

Aprilia RS125 Poggiali 2004

If youre sensible and treat it as an 80mph bike and occasionally play, itll last you for ages. After a few miles of fun roll the throttle off and let it cool down for a bit: then play again. Another thing RS125 owners get caught out by is cold seizure; allow the bike to warm up properly. The temperature gauge may show the engine warming up, but as it warms to the point that the thermostat opens, cold water is pumped from the radiator around the engine shrinking it onto the pistons. This is particularly a problem on cold, frosty days. Start your bike up before you put on your gear, and then pull away at half throttle for the first couple of miles. Be realistic about the running costs of this true racer, its advisable to budget for top end rebuilds every 10,000 miles costing around £750, including new barrels, and using genuine Aprilia parts.

Be cautious about buying second-hand. Typical scenario: Seller buys a restricted RS125 rides it around for a while, passes his test, derestricts it and rides for a further two years until hes allowed to buy a rsvr mille and come and play with the big boys. Its now three years old, and he takes it to his Aprilia dealer as part exchange. The dealer points out that it now needs £1,000 spent on an engine rebuild and other work to bring it up to the standard required for an Aprilia dealer to put on his forecourt. Sellers says, OK, cash price on the RSV Mille and Ill sell it privately through the paper. Private buyer comes along and two months further down the line, surprise surprise, it goes bang. Look for an Aprilia full service history and evidence that the seller has been using the best quality oil.

With the Aprilia RS125 you get 2 bikes in one. First the learner legal 125, power restricted. Thats how we recommend you ride it on your L-plates. If you want to go faster, do your f*cking test. The Police arent stupid, they know when youve derestricted, its really easy to tell. At the first service after youve passed your test, ask your Aprilia dealer about your options for derestriction. The cost is between £50 and £350, depending on what bits are already on your bike and what you want.

Then, for years the rs125 has been unbeaten on the 125 Sport Production racing circuit. The rs125 comes in two versions, GP-One Replica and SBK Replica, both destined to reinforce the market leadership of the rs125, Europes best selling road sports bike.

The Aprilia rs125 brings the under 18 rider the best the European motorbike market has to offer in terms of equipment and technology. The sporty lines of this bike are the result of painstaking design and advanced aerodynamic research. Fruit of extensive wind tunnel testing, the aerodynamic form ensures total protection and minimum air resistance, giving a whole series of advantages including reduced fuel consumption and optimised performance under all conditions. The aerodynamic fairing and windshield, with integrated hand guards to eliminate all turbulence, allow the rider to really make the most of the incredible speed and performance of this bike. The styling of the front mudguard matches the rest of the bodywork. The rs125 is proof that perfect aerodynamics mean stability and safety at high speed. The headlight cluster features a multi-focal double lamp unit and gives the bike an original, eye-catching appearance. Naturally, as well as looking good, the headlight cluster also adds to active safety during nighttime riding and guarantees instant visibility in the day. The tail not only improves aerodynamic penetration but also incorporates a spacious lockable storage compartment to house items like locks and rain proofs The passenger seat is integrated in the tail to avoid spoiling the clean, streamlined lines of the bike. The tail is mounted on an extremely lightweight rear frame. The fuel tank has a capacity of 14 Litres, and gives exceptional autonomy. Not only, but its perfect shape allows the rider to hug the bike like a leech.

The five spoke wheels look sporty but are also lightweight, reliable and safe. The competition standard braking system features a 320 mm front disk with a four piston caliper, and a 220 mm diameter rear disk. The suspensions play a fundamental role in ensuring top level performance, safety and comfort. The Aprilia rs125 is equipped with a 40 mm Ø upside down hydraulic action telescopic fork, with adjustable spring preload and wheel travel of 120 mm. The front fork is one of the winning cards taken from the Aprilia 125 Challenge Trophy. The rear suspensions hydraulic monoshock has also been developed on the basis of racing experience and features adjustable preload too. The aluminium alloy swing-arm gives the rs125 the best torsional rigidity of all production 125 cc bikes. Differential member design permits the swing-arm to pass close to the bikes body. This permits bends to be tackled at greater angles without the risk of dangerous grounding. The aluminium alloy perimeter beam frame gives exceptional torsional rigidity and light weight.

Its design is the reference point for all our competitors. Here again, the transfer of knowledge and technology from the track to the road is typical of Aprilias approach to quality, technology and safety. Extensive wind tunnel testing has led to a globally improved CX for this already aerodynamic motorbike, and has optimised even further the performance of its 125 cc two stroke engine. This advanced power unit features water cooling, balancing countershaft, exhaust control valve and reed intake for riding pleasure and constant power. The aluminium silencer complements the bikes styling and is highly efficient in maximising engine power and minimising noise. rs125 is equipped with a catalytic exhaust in compliance with EURO 1 specifications.

This sporting Aprilia is available in two versions: the rs125 for newly licensed riders with power limited to 11 kW and the rs125 kat Euro 1 full power. A conversion kit can be fitted to the 11 kW version to convert it to full power at a later stage.

The side stand safety system is another extremely important feature. A safety switch prevents the bike being started up and ridden off with the stand down.

The racing style instruments not only look good but are also easy to read. The dashboard includes speedometer, rev counter and coolant temperature gauge to allow the rider to keep all important parameters under control. The speedometer can be removed quickly and easily for track use.

Aprilia RSV 1000 Mille SP

The SP stands for Sports Production, and the Mille SP is little more than a race bike for the road. Despite looking almost identical to the RSV Mille, nearly every part is different. The engine has a different bore and stroke, giving a smaller 996cc capacity, to allow higher revs, and there is only one spark plug per cylinder to allow bigger valves. The frame is unique to the SP, with adjustable engine position, steering head angle and swingarm pivot, and 20 per cent stiffer.

The fairing is made of lightweight carbon-fibre, and the Öhlins suspension is fully adjustable. The SP was built as a homologation machine, to allow the firm to race in the World Superbike championship. It was a limited-edition bike, with only 150 produced.
